In 2013 Blackbird Interactive announced Hardware: Shipbreakers. The team that had made one of the best real-time strategy series, Homeworld, was back in the fight. Only later did they team up with Gearbox Software to turn it into Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak.

The CEO of Blackbird, Rob Cunningham, as well as the lead designer for Deserts of Kharak, Rory McGuire, join me for an in depth discussion of the prequel title, and how their beautiful new game carries on the story.
