EA Sports UFC 2 will be playable six weeks before its release in a beta starting Jan. 28 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, publisher Electronic Arts announced yesterday.
It will be a closed beta — access will be restricted to select owners of the game's predecessor, 2014's EA Sports UFC. The people in question can log in to EA's beta registration website to see if they're eligible. Interested parties must register by 10 a.m. PT on Jan. 21 to have a chance at receiving a beta code.
The beta will run from Jan. 28 through Feb. 4, and will weigh in at about 11 GB. Beta testers will be able to jump into a three- or five-round bout with some welterweight fighters, try minigames to improve their skills, work on their game in a practice environment, and put together a group of five created fighters in the new UFC Ultimate Team mode. One-on-one online matches will also be available in the beta.
EA Sports UFC 2 is scheduled to be released March 15, with Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor on the cover.
