Rory McIlroy PGA Tour's latest free course has a notorious history

Plus a secret, unannounced new feature

The next free course for Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will arrive next week, EA Sports said on the game's Facebook page. It's the TPC Stadium Course at PGA West (pictured).

This is now the 17th course in the game, five of them coming since the game's launch in July. Like three of the DLC courses (the fourth was a fantasy locale) this one will also be integrated into the game's player career schedule once a new season begins

Why this course? EA Sports didn't say, but Thursday will see the first PGA Tour event on PGA West's Stadium Course since 1988. After that year's Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, tour pros sent a petition to the tour commissioner saying the course layout was too tough and asking that no further tournaments be held there. And they weren't, until this week.

There's another, as-yet-unannounced feature coming with the next update, too. EA Sports hasn't given any details of what that is, but will give more info on it this week.
