Actor from The Martian cast in new Doctor Strange role

Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange has found his trusty sidekick in Benedict Wong, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The actor, best known for his work in Ridley Scott's The Martian, will be joining Marvel's upcoming cosmic adventure as a character he shares a name with: Wong, Strange's trusty sidekick.

In the comics, Wong not only helps Strange with his day to day errands and researching the occult, but also acts as a healer.

Marvel hasn't released much information about the movie, but the studio did give fans their first official look at what Cumberbatch's take on the sorcerer would look like.

Wong, the actor, joins Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rachel McAdams in the movie, which is scheduled to hit theaters Nov. 4.
