Umbrella Corps arrives on PC, PS4 in May

Resident Evil-meets-Counter-Strike finds a launch window

Umbrella Corps will launch this May, Capcom announced in a press release. There's no firm date beyond the May window for the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC title as of yet, but the new trailer above offers another look at the game.

The third-person shooter, first revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2015, is a team-based action game with a Resident Evil-style coating. Many of its areas specifically draw from the worlds of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, according to Capcom.

Players can explore those familiar settings in various one-to-six-player combat modes. Although the game skews toward online multiplayer action, there's also a mission-based single-player campaign.

We went hands-on with the Resident Evil spinoff, which will be priced $29.99 at launch, on the TGS showfloor last fall, In our short time with the game, we found it to have a "Counter-Strike with zombies" vibe.

You can watch members of the development team take Umbrella Corps for a spin in the video below.
