DC announces new animated series, Justice League Action

Mark Hamill, Kevin Conroy lending voice talents

Mark Hamill is set to reprise his infamous role as the Joker in a new animated Justice League series, DC Comics announced today.

Justice League Action, a 15-minute series from Warner Bros. that's set to air on the Cartoon Network, will also see the return of Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman. Conroy and Hamill originally voiced the characters in Batman: The Animated Series back in 1992 before joining the Justice League animated series in 2001.

According to an announcement from the comic book publisher, the series will put the "action back in heroics."

"Whether defending the Earth, facing invaders from space, or battling the bizarre forces of magic, the always-rotating team of Justice League heroes, are up to any challenge," the statement reads.

Other DC voice actors will be joining Hamill and Conroy in the new show, including James Woods as Lex Luthor. This marks DC's second animated series on the network. The popular series Teen Titans Go! is currently in its third season.

There's currently no word on when the series is set to debut.
