When HBO announced last August that it would become the new home to PBS' longtime running Sesame Street, jokes about how the children's show would fare on the network flooded social media.
On his show last night, late night host Jimmy Kimmel took it one step further and reimagined a scene between Oscar the Grouch and Big Bird in the style of True Detective.
The conversation that takes place is from the latter show's first season, when Rust (Matthew McConaughey) and Marty (Woody Harrelson) are talking about the state of the world and having kids.
The first episode of the 46th season of Sesame Street will premiere on the network Jan. 16, and will introduce a new character and theme song.
