Tales from the Crypt gets series order at TNT

Director M. Night Shyamalan is also onboard!

Tales from the Crypt, HBO's landmark anthology horror show from the '90s, has found a new home on TNT, and is returning to television later this year.

The network announced the revival of the series during its session at the Television Critics Association semi-annual conference, according to Entertainment Weekly, and revealed that director M. Night Shyamalan would be helming the show.

The series will drift between long and short segments of horror, all handpicked or created by Shyamalan. Shyamalan told the magazine that being given the opportunity to work on the show was an "inspiring opportunity" that he couldn't wait "to dive into."

Neither Shyamalan or the producers present confirmed whether the concept for the show would be based on the comic books from the '50s like HBO's long running series or if it would be a completely different beast.

The revived Tales from the Crypt is set to premiere sometime this fall.
