Game of Thrones returns April 24

Along with Veep, Silicon Valley

The sixth season of Game of Thrones will begin on April 24, HBO announced in a press release.

The April return for the drama was first revealed with a teaser poster in November. HBO also hinted then that fan favorite Jon Snow, who was thought to be dead after season five's epic conclusion, might be making his grand return to the show.

HBO also shared that following Game of Thrones' 9 p.m. season debut, comedies Silicon Valley and Veep will also premiere their new seasons.

Still without a release date is the latest book in author George R.R. Martin's series, A Song of Fire and Ice, off which the show is based. The delay won't impact the TV show, series star Natalie Dormer recently told Jimmy Kimmel.
