NBC orders Office-like series based in the DC Comics universe

Would you buy insurance from Batman?

If The Office were to exist in the same world as the DC Comics universe, would Michael Scott be played by Batman or Superman?

That's a question NBC is going to answer with its new show, Powerless. Announced as one of four pilots that the network ordered, Powerless is described as "an office comedy about the exceedingly average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power," according to Entertainment Weekly.

Although NBC confirmed the show would focus on "superheroes and villains," it didn't specify whether that included DC's major lineup of characters. Deadline previously reported that the show would focus on unfamiliar characters, however.

The network also ordered pilots from Marlon Wayans, Tracey Wigfield (30 Rock) and Matt Hubbard (30 Rock, Parks and Recreation).

NBC didn't state when these pilots would be airing, but considering they've already been announced, expect to see them pop up during the 2016 fall season. Hopefully, we'll see Booster Gold get an appearance in the series.
