Replay Red Dead Revolver on PS4 right now

Red Dead Redemption's older brother makes the leap to modern hardware

Red Dead Revolver is now available to download on PlayStation 4, making it the latest PlayStation 2 classic to get a revamp for the contemporary set. While not quite as beloved as its successor, Red Dead Redemption, the action-heavy Western arrives with open arms from those who expected its launch weeks ago.

That's because, back in mid-September, Sony uploaded Red Dead Revolver to the Australian PlayStation Store ... only to quickly remove it from sale. After this conspicuous surprise launch, the game remain unavailable until yesterday, when it returned to the Aussie storefront.

This is the first chance for Americans to play Red Dead Revolver on their PS4s, at any rate. The game costs $14.99, and the re-release includes trophies, remote play, second screen support and 1080p visuals.

As for Red Dead Redemption, PS4 owners are out of luck; the PS3 classic is not available for the current-gen system. Xbox One owners and fans of the franchise have been playing the game on their consoles since the summer, however, after a similarly brief period of availability earlier this year.
