Star Wars: The Force Awakens is approaching the first anniversary of its release in theaters, but deleted scenes and new information are still being released.
In a new deleted scene from the upcoming 3D Collector’s Blu-Ray edition of the film, which can be seen below, we finally learn what happened to Unkar Plutt, the grotesque creature that bothered Rey while she was living on Jakku. In case some have forgotten, Unkar Plutt was the alien handing out portions of food on Jakku. In one memorable scene, Rey brings Unkar Plutt a variety of material and items she scavenged only to receive a minimal amount of food in return.
Rey eventually gets away from Unkar Plutt by stealing the Millennium Falcon that Unkar Plutt had come to possess. In the film, Han Solo warns Rey that because he and Chewie were able to relocate the ship using its reactivation signal, others could as well. As we learn in the deleted scene, that’s essentially what happened. Unkar Plutt finds Rey in Maz Kanata’s castle on the planet of Takodana and grabs her by the arm, “kindly suggesting” that she follow him outside of the castle. Things get heated and when Chewbacca shows up to lend a helping hand, things go from bad to worse for Unkar Plutt.
Although the clip cuts off, Chewbacca tears apart Unkar Plutt limb-for-limb, according to Entertainment Weekly. The full clip should be available following the release of the film on 3D Blu-ray.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is currently available to purchase on Blu-ray or downloaded from any digital retailer. The 3D Blu-ray Collector’s edition will be available to purchase on Nov. 15.
