The 2016 Ghostbusters movie was pretty good, and even made great use of the 3D effects in some theaters. But the real star of the show was always Kate McKinnon's Holtzmann and, now that the film's special features have begun to find their way online, we can watch nearly 10 minutes of her outtakes.
What's great about these scenes is that McKinnon was able to take each joke in so many directions, and it has to be nearly impossible for the rest of the actors to stay in character when she surprises them with a new way to make a point or try to get a laugh. This sort of thing can go on for a good amount of time in movies that feature prominent improvisation, and it's neat to see a bunch of the takes that didn't make it into the final cut.
You also have to respect the amount of talent that goes into brainstorming this sort of thing on a set where every minute you're trying to figure out a joke or a bit of timing is costing everyone significant budget. Outside of the technical details, though, I'm just glad we have this record of some of the jokes from the set. It was worth the wait.
