Netflix in November: Everything that’s coming and going

More Netflix originals and Disney films

Netflix

Netflix is making a push for original content, and November is full of original and exclusive series from the streaming service.

That includes one of Netflix’s most anticipated shows, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Although Gilmore Girls itself isn’t an original series for the company, the four-part mini-series is being touted as much. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life reunites the cast of the CW’s original series and will follow Rory (Alexis Bledel) and her mom Lorelai (Lauren Graham) over the course of a year in their hometown of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Practically everyone involved in the original production has returned for the sequel mini-series, with a few notable exceptions including Melissa McCarthy.

Other original series, like The Crown, will also debut in November. Netflix has spent quite a bit of time promoting and marketing The Crown and it looks like it could be the next big show for the company. It follows a young Queen Elizabeth II as a 25-year-old newlywed who has the nearly impossible task of leading the famous monarchy while also working on her relationship with the country’s Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. The Crown will also examine the Queen’s relationship with husband Prince Philip.

The Crown will debut first, with the entire first season being available to stream as of Nov. 4. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will follow with all four episodes on Nov. 25.

November is shaping up to be a great month for new movies becoming available to stream, including Disney’s fantastic live-action remake of The Jungle Book. Directed by Jon Favreau, The Jungle Book uses some of the best CGI available to mix real world settings and actors with various animal characters from the original film. It will be available to stream on Nov. 30.

Unfortunately, there are many more movies and shows leaving next month. All four seasons of The Boondocks and all 10 seasons of Shameless will disappear at the end of the month, along with films like E.T., Almost Famous and xXx.
