New York Comic Con is getting ready to kick off, and the first wave of con-exclusive trailers have already begun to surface online.
Today, Fox revealed the first teaser trailer for its upcoming installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise, War of the Planet of the Apes. The film acts as a direct followup to Fox's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and will once again star mo-cap actor extraordinaire Andy Serkis as the highly-intelligent ape, Caesar.
The teaser, which Fox released in the form of a "digital billboard," doesn't give away too much about the movie. More is expected to be announced during the studio's official panel for the film, tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET.
This past summer, Fox decided to pull out of San Diego Comic-Con, arguably the biggest convention in the world. The studio will be using New York Comic Con to make some big announcement surrounding its slate of new and upcoming movies. This includes titles like the upcoming Assassin's Creed adaptation with Michael Fassbender and the third installment in the Wolverine saga, Logan.
War of the Planet of the Apes is set to hit theaters July 14, 2017.
