The world that Arrow, Flash, and the Legends inhabit on the CW, which the network and its fans lovingly refer to as the Arrowverse, won’t be recruiting Supergirl.
Producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly that Supergirl would remain its own entity within the CW universe and would remain on Earth. Kreisberg said that when the team moved Supergirl from CBS to the CW earlier this year, there were some aspects of the show that had to change slightly, but they were adamant that Supergirl would remain in her own dimension.
“Kara will be traveling from her dimension to our dimension,” Kreisberg said. “‘Our’ being the world that The Flash, Arrow, and Legends [of Tomorrow] lives in.”
Being able to have Supergirl travel from one dimension to the next means that the promise of a crossover — like the one coming up later this season — can continue, but don’t expect to see Supergirl hanging out with Flash and Arrow as often as fans may like.
Despite Supergirl being in her own dimension, superhero fans will be able to see her team up with another DC legend — Superman. After being teased throughout the entire first season of the show while it was on CBS, the CW is finally bringing Clark Kent into the mix. Recent teasers have show off the pair in action, with Superman making his debut on the show during the upcoming season premiere.
Supergirl returns on Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
