If you’re looking to pick up Dishonored 2 tomorrow for either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, prepare to download a 9 GB day-one patch first.
The patch was first reported by Reddit user LegalTRR, who responded to a question in the Dishonored forum about additional first day downloads. According to LegalTRR, the patch is for “improved texture streamer, shadow quality, reloading time, audio mix, [and] framerate performance.”
Polygon has confirmed that there is a 9.1 GB patch on the PlayStation 4 version, and while you can play the game without installing it, choosing to do so will result in automatically being signed out of the PlayStation Network. Polygon can also confirm that there is a 9.0 GB path for Xbox One users.
Publisher Bethesda Softworks recommends that players do update the game by downloading the patch before jumping in.
Dishonored 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC on Nov. 11. Polygon went hands-on with the game yesterday, playing from the very beginning of the game.
