The PlayStation Store’s 10th anniversary sale returns for round two of deals

10 years of digital games boiled down to one week of sales

Gravity Rush Sony Interactive Entertainment

The PlayStation Store launched 10 years ago this month, and PlayStation owners are continuing to reap the benefits with another weeklong sale. Following last week’s set of deals, another round of classic games from the past 10 years and beyond are discounted. Prices are good through Nov. 22 at 8 a.m. PT, with PlayStation Plus members maximizing the savings with up to 70 percent off.

Below are some of our highlights, with PlayStation Plus prices listed.

Gravity Rush ($14.99, 50 percent off)

gravity rush Sony Interactive Entertainment

The PlayStation 4 revamp of this unique, gravity-defying action title goes cheap this week. Now’s a good time to check it out, since there’s a sequel due in January. (The Vita version is also on sale for half-off; it’s $6.74 this week.)

God of War 3 Remastered ($7.99, 60 percent off)

god of war 3 Sony Interactive Entertainment

There’s another God of War in the works, but it will be some time until we get to play it. In the meantime, dip into the PS4 re-release of Kratos’ 2010 PS3 adventure.

Destiny: The Taken King — Digital Collector’s Edition ($19.59, 51 percent off)

In case you have yet to dive into Destiny, The Taken King may be a good place to start. Rise of Iron, the latest — and last — expansion for the game, launched this fall, refining everything we’ve come to like about Destiny. But The Taken King was a giant step toward greatness for the game, and this set includes everything you’ll need to play Rise of Iron.

Life is Strange ($7.99, 60 percent off)

life is strange Square Enix/DONTNOD Entertainment

Life is Strange has done more than win acclaim for its memorable characters and storytelling. Square Enix has made something actionable out of this episodic tale, translating its themes of depression and bullying into charitable efforts. We still have no clue if there’s a season two on the way, but PS4 owners should check out this first season collection.

Dark Cloud 2 ($4.94, 67 percent off)

dark cloud 2 Sony Computer Entertainment/Level-5

Dark Cloud 2 doesn’t require any knowledge of its similarly discounted predecessor upon entry. That’s a good thing, because we’ve had staffers refer to the sequel as their all-time favorite PS2 game. This dungeon crawler is long, tough and worth your while now that it’s on PS4.

Klonoa: Door to Phantomile ($1.97, 67 percent off)

klonoa Bandai Namco

There’s a feature-length Klonoa anime underway, which means now’s as good a time as any to check out his first adventure. We’re not sure what species he is, but we do know he has a strong affinity for platforming. Originally released for PS1, this game’s playable on PS3, PSP and Vita.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 ($6.49, 65 percent off)

Persona 4 Golden Atlus

It’s not the definitive Golden version of Persona 4, which is out on Vita and launched a thousand spinoffs. But for a steep price cut, the original PS2 release is a must-play. Time to dig out the PS3 for this lengthy role-playing game — which you can keep plugged in through February, when Persona 5 launches on both PS3 and PS4.

Other games, like Battleborn and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, are priced down through Nov. 22. The full round-up is available on the PlayStation Store.

Correction: God of War 3 isn’t the most recent console game in the franchise; the text above has been corrected to reflect this.
