New Rogue One 360-video puts you in the pilot seat of an X-Wing

Behold the Death Star in all its glory

The main mission that the Rebels are tasked with in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is to find the plans to the Death Star to stop it from being built.

In a new 360-video posted on the Star Wars YouTube channel, viewers are thrown into the cockpit of an X-Wing while on a routine mission when your partner picks up “Imperial com chatter.” Upon further investigation, you accidentally stumble upon the Death Star, but before you have time to explore, you’re faced with an army of TIE Fighters. Like other 360-videos, it can be viewed directly on YouTube from a standard web browser or through a Samsung Gear VR headset.

Rogue One is the first stand-alone anthology film in the new Star Wars universe and takes place before the events of A New Hope. The film stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Forest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed and Diego Luna. The film will be released in theaters nationwide on Dec. 16.
