Monsters come alive in new Kong: Skull Island trailer

It’s not just King Kong

Last night, Jimmy Kimmel premiered the second trailer for Kong: Skull Island, following the first footage that Warner Bros. showed off earlier this summer at San Diego Comic-Con.

While the first trailer teased the appearance of King Kong, giving fans a brief look at the gigantic gorilla at the very end, the new trailer spends most of its time focusing on King Kong. There are also a few shots of the different monsters that share Skull Island with King Kong, but provides a new look at the different scientists and soldiers who are trying to survive.

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (You’re the Worst), the film is a retelling of King Kong’s origin story. It’s set in the 70s and follows a group of soldiers and scientists who are sent on an expedition to explore an island that was recently discovered in the South Pacific.

Kong: Skull Island will be released on March 10, 2017.
