Manslaughter, house fires and buried bodies: Comics you should check out

Recommendations from the desk of Issue at Hand

It’s that time of year — everybody’s looking for a gift for that special someone. And it’s that time of year — when nobody wants to go outside at all for any reason.

Ladies and gentlemen, consider solving both of these problems with comics. Issue at Hand is Polygon’s guide to the weird world of comic books, and this week we’re just throwing a bunch of good comics at you so you can see what sticks. From space opera to high school drama — and some books with both — we hope there’s something here that appeals to you, or maybe to that person who’s really hard to shop for.

Show someone you care by giving them the greatest gift of all: a book with a full-page illustration of giant’s disgusting testicles. (For extra credit, check Comixology for Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales for a lot of the books listed in this episode.)

The next level of puzzles.

Take a break from your day by playing a puzzle or two! We’ve got SpellTower, Typeshift, crosswords, and more.
