Over the past week, Marvel and Netflix have been releasing short, 10-second videos on The Defenders Twitter account detailing who will join their Defenders TV series.
Yesterday, Netflix confirmed that Iron Fist’s Colleen Wing, played by Jessica Henwick, would appear alongside Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil and, of course, Iron Fist in The Defenders. Along with the announcement, the video provided a very quick glimpse of Wing in action, taking on another fighter in a UFC-style match. The footage in the tweet can also be seen in the second trailer for Iron Fist released at New York Comic Con last month.

Like Danny Rand — Iron Fist’s true identity — Wing is a martial artist champion known throughout New York and Hell’s Kitchen. In an episode of Luke Cage, there’s a poster advertising Wing’s martial arts classes, and audiences will be able to see her true power in action when Iron Fist premieres in March.
The Defenders is the series that Marvel and Netflix have been building up to since the launch of Daredevil in April 2015. The series will unite all four of Netflix and Marvel’s superheroes mentioned above and pit them against an unknown foe. The only thing that Marvel has revealed about the villain is that it will be played by Sigourney Weaver, best known for playing Ripley in the Alien franchise.
The Defenders is slated to be released in 2017, but some questions have arisen as to whether or not the show would be pushed back to 2018. Netflix and Marvel tend to release two series per year, and with Iron Fist and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher series on the table, it seems unlikely that The Defenders will also premiere next year.
Iron Fist will be available to stream in full as of March 17, 2017 on Netflix. The first seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are available to stream right now, along with the first two seasons of Daredevil.
