Blizzard’s popular team-based shooter, Overwatch, is going to be free to play on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One during the weekend of Nov. 18-21.
During the free weekend, players will have access to all 22 heroes and 13 maps that are available to play, including Quick Play, Custom Games and the Weekly Brawl. For new players interested in picking up the game after the free weekend trial is over, any progress made during the three-day period will carry over once purchased.
Players will be also be able to play four different game modes: Assault, Escort, Assault/Escort and Control. Each mode takes place in a variety of cities or locations, with all modes and maps supporting 12 players in a 6v6 format. Unfortunately, it appears that Blizzard won’t be offering Competitive Mode to players trying the game out during the three day period.
Those interested in trying out Overwatch for the weekend will need a PlayStation Plus membership, Xbox Live Gold membership or Battle.net account to play. According to Blizzard, the download file will be approximately 12 GB in size. The free period will kick off at 11 a.m. PT on Nov. 18 and end at 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 21.
