Hitman’s latest target: The two burglars from Home Alone

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal

Hitman just got a Christmas-themed mission and the two targets are the numbskull burglars from Home Alone.

Developer IO Interactive sent word last week that the mission was on the way, but no one learned the targets' names until today. Here’s part of the briefing from Agent 47’s handler, Diana Burnwood:

Happy Holidays, 47. Your destination is Paris, France, and I must confess, this one is a bit of an odd one. Your targets are Harry ‘Smokey’ Bagnato and Marv ‘Slick’ Gonif, a pair of professional thieves currently breaking into the Palais De Walewska. Bagnato and Gonif are both American nationals now living in Paris after a series of botched break-ins and related violent crimes forced them to leave their home country.

You can see the full briefing in this screenshot from CountZio on Twitter:

Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern starred as burglars Harry Lime and Marv Merchants, respectively, in Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992). In both films, they were outwitted by a child named Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) and the kit-bashed traps he laid for them.

This isn’t the first goof on Hollywood that Hitman has done. This summer, Gary Busey and Gary Cole starred in an ironic Elusive Target mission where Busey, by vote of fans, was selected for the hit.
