Shortly after revealing the new Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite at PlayStation Experience, PlayStation’s Shawn Layden announced that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 — which has been missing from both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live since Dec. 2013 — will be available on PlayStation 4 today, with the Xbox One and PC releases coming March of next year.
The game, which was originally released in 2011, features playable characters from across the Capcom and Marvel universes. Unlike the recently announced Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, which eschews Marvel’s mutants in favor of familiar faces from the comic giant’s Cinematic Universe, UMvC3 is full of mutants like Wolverine and Magneto.
We’ll ask Capcom if Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be returning to Xbox as well, or if this is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. [Update: The YouTube listing for the above video reads, “Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is being re-released for current generation systems; with the PlayStation 4 digital download version available today and the Xbox One and Windows PC versions coming in March 2017!”]
