The first official teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 has dropped, and Baby Groot is more adorable than we ever thought.
The two-minute teaser was released as a surprise by Disney, Marvel and James Gunn. The director tweeted out the trailer late Saturday afternoon. The trailer reunites the original five Guardians — Rocket Racoon, Starlord, Gamora, Drax and Baby Groot — and shows off a little more of what fans can expect from the sequel.
There are quite a few fight scenes, featuring all of the different Guardians, but Baby Groot is the biggest takeaway from the trailer. He’s funny, adorable and in one particular scene, a ferocious warrior, using his tree-like limbs to take down an enemy on a bridge.
Like the original Guardians of the Galaxy, the sequel isn’t going to sacrifice any comedic scenes, either. The final scene of the trailer features Starlord in an intense conversation with an alien about love — all kinds of love.
