Netflix is renewing Luke Cage for a second season, the company announced today via Twitter.
In a short 15-second video uploaded to the show’s Twitter account, a sign at the front of Pop’s Barbershop simply states that a second season is coming soon. The video didn’t announce any more details, like when the second season would hit the streaming service, but don’t expect it for quite some time.
Always forward. #LukeCage pic.twitter.com/4pnu52KFKr

Next year alone, Netflix and Marvel have three different series that will premiere. The Punisher, The Defenders and Iron Fist will all debut next year, with Jessica Jones’ second season and Daredevil’s third being held back until after those are released. If Netflix decides to stick with its three seasons a year plan — which is more than the two shows a year Netflix is currently running with Marvel — then it’s possible that Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Daredevil could all return in 2018.
The first season of Luke Cage is currently available to stream on Netflix.
