The Microsoft Store just kicked off a lengthy holiday promotion with a decent Xbox One deal, although the better offers are coming later.
Customers who buy certain Xbox One consoles — including the original 500 GB Xbox One bundled with The Division, and a variety of Xbox One S game bundles — will get a couple of freebies. They’ll be able to pick a black or white Xbox One wireless controller (regularly $59.99), and choose from a selection of 10 Ubisoft-published games:
- Assassin's Creed Syndicate (reg. $29.99)
- Assassin's Creed Unity (reg. $19.99)
- The Crew (reg. $29.99)
- Far Cry Primal (reg. $49.99)
- Hasbro Family Fun Pack (reg. $29.99)
- Just Dance 2016 (reg. $39.99)
- Just Dance: Disney Party 2 (reg. $19.99)
- Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege (reg. $49.99)
- Tom Clancy’s The Division (reg. $49.99)
- Watch Dogs (reg. $19.99)
Today is the first day of Microsoft’s “12 Days of Deals” promotion for the holidays. This Wednesday, Dec. 7, the Microsoft Store will be offering 50 percent off select Xbox One games. The deal will bring the price of recent releases such as Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Gears of War 4, ReCore and Watch Dogs 2 down to $19.99.
Customers who live near a physical Microsoft Store location can head there on Thursday morning, Dec. 8, for a “doorbuster” deal: the $25 gift card that will be offered with the purchase of a one-year Xbox Live Gold subscription.
The Microsoft Store will up the ante next week. On Sunday, Dec. 11, customers who buy select Xbox One controllers — including the Dawn Shadow Special Edition gamepad and the Xbox Elite controller — will receive a $25 gift card. In fact, that particular deal appears to be available right now, at least for the Elite controller.
A terrific doorbuster deal will also be available on Sunday: Select 500 GB Xbox One consoles will be available for $179 — $120 off the regular price. The next day, Dec. 12, select Xbox One consoles will be available at a $50 discount, and buyers will receive two free games.
There are plenty of non-Xbox deals in the 12-day promotion, too. On Wednesday, Dec. 14, select Intel-powered gaming PCs will be available at discounts of up to $1,000, bringing prices as low as $799. Each of the deals in question will begin at 12 a.m. PT and last for 24 hours.
