Watch Jimmy Fallon play Zelda on Nintendo Switch on The Tonight Show

Reggie and Jimmy debut the Switch and Super Mario Run on late night

Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aimé and Shigeru Miyamoto appeared on tonight’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and brought two special guests with them: Super Mario Run for iOS and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch. If you missed tonight’s episode, you can relive Jimmy Fallon both freaking out and geeking out playing with Mario and Zelda in the presence of their creator.

You might want to turn your speakers down as Fallon gets his hands on Super Mario Run, which is coming to the Apple App Store next week, because he is excited to play a Mario game with touchscreen controls.

Fallon does a better job of containing his enthusiasm — but not his Nintendo fanboyism and grasp of Miyamoto trivia — when going hands-on with Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch. There’s some new footage of Link in action in next year’s open-world adventure, and this is our first real look at the Switch being played live.

Nintendo probably won’t say more about the Switch until its upcoming Jan. 12 event, where executives will detail the price, release date and more information on the new hardware in a webcast from Tokyo.
