The Flame in the Flood, the riverside rogue-lite made by alumni of Irrational Games, will launch on Windows PC, Mac and Xbox One on Feb. 24.
In the game, a girl and her dog are navigating "the backwaters of a forgotten, post-societal America," requiring them to forage for provisions, craft weapons and useful tools, and defeat predators. The rivers and rapids one traverses are procedurally generated.
The Flame in the Flood also features an original soundtrack composed by the alt-country recording artist Chuck Ragan. For more on the game, see our preview from E3 2015.
The Flame in the Flood is by the The Molasses Flood, a studio formed by veterans of the BioShock series who were laid off in Irrational's sudden closure in early 2014. Others who joined the team have worked on series such as Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Halo.
