The Walking Dead: Michonne launches on consoles and PC Feb. 23

Two more episodes to follow in March and April

The Walking Dead: Michonne, the three-episode miniseries continuing Telltale Games' adaptation of The Walking Dead's canon, launches Feb. 23 on PC and consoles, the publisher announced today.

The miniseries premieres with "In Too Deep" for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Mac, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It will be followed by episodes launching in March and April. All episodes will cost $14.99.

An iOS/Android version of the series will launch Feb. 25.

The Walking Dead: Michonne is an adaptation starring the sword-swinging fan-favorite character from both the comic book and television series. In the debut episode, Michonne links up with Pete and his crew aboard a sailing vessel as they search the coast for survivors, arriving at the colony of Monroe.

Michonne will be voiced by Samira Wiley, known for her role in the drama Orange is the New Black. Canonically, this series will take place between issues No. 126 and 139 of the comic book.

The Walking Dead: Michonne is the second interlude between seasons for the highly successful Telltale series. The Walking Dead: 400 Days launched in 2013 between 2012's Season One and Season Two, which aired between December 2013 and August 2014. A third season of The Walking Dead is coming, but Telltale hasn't given any details or launch date for it yet.

The Walking Dead: Michonne was originally scheduled to launch in fall 2015, so it's unclear how far that pushes a launch date for the series' third full season.
