The annual DICE Awards show is nearly upon us, bringing with it what the people who make games think are the best creations among their peers.
The 19th DICE Awards will be hosted by comedian Pete Holmes and, as with years past, will kick off with a neat original video homage to gaming created by NoodleHaus.
We've got a tiny tease of what that will look like embedded above this story, but for a full sense of what they're capable of, check out two of their previous videos embedded at the bottom of this post.
"Our challenge each year is to create a unique and compelling video that kicks off the D.I.C.E. awards and sets the stage for the gaming industry to receive its biggest awards," Matthew Stainner, Founder and Head of NoodleHaus, said in a prepared statement. "This year's work is arguably some of our best work. We are excited about this opening that we've given our favorite shots pet-names: ‘Sky Prison' is a vast landscape lit by a massive sodium vapor arrangement of lights; ‘Toxic Trix' plays with colors and shapes like a bowl of kids cereal; and ‘The Light Board' brings a hit of color and pattern inspired by pixels and LED light displays."
The awards will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Las Vegas, and can be watched right here on Polygon by visiting our DICE 2016 storystream. We'll also be livestreaming the week's talks at the same location.
The first official day of DICE kicks off Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. PT and runs until 2:30 p.m. PT. Day two runs the same hours and the DICE Awards starts at 7:30 p.m. PT on Thursday.
