James Franco tries to save JFK

Hulu's latest original series is 11.22.63, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel 11/22/63, and the full eight-episode series will be exclusive to Hulu Plus subscribers. However, anybody who owns an Xbox 360 or Xbox One will be able to watch the first episode free from today through Feb. 21, Microsoft announced today.

Interested parties won't need a subscription to Hulu Plus ($7.99 per month) or Xbox Live Gold ($59.99 per year) in order to watch 11.22.63's 81-minute pilot, "The Rabbit Hole."

Hulu is releasing the eight episodes of 11.22.63 like a standard TV show: The premiere debuted today, and a new episode will go live every Monday for the next seven weeks.

11.22.63 stars James Franco, Chris Cooper and Josh Duhamel. The show tells the story of Jake Epping (Franco), a high school English teacher in present-day Maine who travels back to the 1950s and '60s on a mission to prevent Lee Harvey Oswald from assassinating President John F. Kennedy. For more, check out a review of the pilot from our friends at The Verge.
