A sequel to the sci-fi classic Blade Runner will arrive Jan. 12, 2018, Warner Bros. Entertainment announced.
Ryan Gosling will star alongside Harrison Ford, who will reprise his role as bounty hunter Rick Deckard in Ridley Scott's 1982 film. Dennis Villeneuve, who helmed last year's Sicario, will direct the feature based on a script co-written by original Blade Runner scribe Hampton Francher.
In November, Scott shared some early details about the upcoming feature, revealing how Ford's Rick Deckard will figure into the film's opening moments. Not much else is known about the second Blade Runner other than that it will take place decades after the earlier film.
