Dwayne Johnson set to return for San Andreas sequel

There are more earthquakes incoming

Dwayne Johnson managed to save his daughter from a series of disastrous mega-earthquakes in last year's San Andreas, but it looks like he may have to do it all over again.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson and most of the crew from the original film — which includes Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario — are set to return for a sequel.

The film, which grossed over $473 million worldwide last year, focused on devastating earthquakes in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. This time around, the sequel will go global, focusing on a variety of cities around the world. It will mostly focus on the the Ring of Fire that circles the Pacific Ocean. This specific ring, which houses volcanoes and fault lines, is the source of 90 percent of the world's earthquakes.

Brad Peyton, the director behind the original film, is set to return alongside Johnson, but there's currently no estimated time frame for the movie's release.
