In the original series from 1993, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Repulsa is an otherworldly witch who wants to take over the entire planet for her own evil gains.
Banks will join a group of relatively new actors who will be taking on the roles of the five various rangers.
Helmed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac), the movie is set to be released in 2017, giving Banks one hell of a hectic schedule. The actress has already started pre-production on her new movie, Rita Hayworth with a Hand Grenade, and also announced that she'll be returning for Pitch Perfect 3.
The Power Rangers movie is based on the television show of the same name and is the first live action film since Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, which was released in 1995.
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters March 24, 2017.
