Carmageddon: Max Damage will come to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One later this year, developer Stainless Games announced today. A website for the upcoming game in the automotive combat series details what to expect from Max Damage, as does the debut trailer above.
In short: The new release offers much of what Carmageddon fans have come to expect from the series steeped in excessive car-based violence. Players can choose from a variety of vehicles and open environments to strike down pedestrians and other targets. The game will also come with a career mode, repair system and online multiplayer.
There's no release date yet for Max Damage, but the developer confirmed on Steam that PC owners of the most recent Carmageddon game, Carmageddon Reincarnation, will receive the new title for free when it does launch.
Carmageddon Reincarnation launched out of Steam Early Access last spring after beginning life on Kickstarter. It marked the first new entry in the series since 2000.
