Actress Drew Barrymore will host an exclusive Pokémon anniversary celebration this Saturday, Feb. 27, according to a press release. The Pokémon Afternoon Soirée will "celebrate the brand's US categorical expansion into unisex fashion, accessories and home decor," with invited bloggers and social media influencers checking out various Pokémon lifestyle products.
Barrymore and guests will take to the penthouse of Hollywood Hills' Sunset Tower, where Pokémon nail art will be offered along with special gift bags, the details of which were not disclosed.
Among the stylists and socialites in attendance will be Pikachu, the franchise's mascot, the press release states. What isn't made explicit is how the average Pokémon fan can score an invite to the Los Angeles event.
For those in the area who are not on Drew Barrymore's guest list but have an interest in Pokémon and fashion, a Pokémon pop-up shop will re-open for business in L.A. on Feb. 27, selling exclusive high-fashion Pokémon apparel. That storefront will remain open until March 27.
For the rest of the country, there are plenty of other Pokémon events happening to celebrate the series' 20th birthday, from Toys 'R' Us to GameStop to online on Twitch.
