"What goes up, must come down," Jeff Goldblum says at one point in the Independence Day: Resurgence teaser.
The 30-second spot, which aired during Super Bowl 50, shows the first wave of attack from a fleet of extraterrestrial creatures rain down from the sky. It's a state of apocalyptic war as various defense teams try to counterattack the aliens, much like they did in the first Independence Day film from 1996.
The film, which is being directed by Roland Emmerich, takes place 20 years after the events of the first movie and follows another group of people who come together to try and stop another extrasolar threat.
Independence Day: Resurgence, which stars Liam Hemsworth and Charlotte Gainsbourg along a returning Goldblum, will be released June 24.
