If John Boyega didn't come off as enough of a hero in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the turncoat stormtrooper, he's certainly one now.
After learning a five-year-old boy, undergoing treatment for brain cancer, had asked to meet him, Boyega "jumped" at the chance to go hang out with him — in character, as Finn. The actor visited the boy, named Daniel, and brought along a bunch of toys. Together, he and Daniel spent the day playing with other children in the hospital.
Daniel's mom, Rosalind, posted a message on Facebook thanking Boyega for coming down to the hospital and spending as much time as he did with her son.
"Daniel is still so overwhelmed," she wrote. "I have never seen him so happy!"
Boyega posted a couple of photos on Instagram of him hanging out with Daniel, and wrote that he stayed in character the entire time, asking the young boy questions like what a car was. He added that he was honored and humbled to get the chance to hang out with Daniel and hoped he had put a smile on the "little stormtrooper's" face.
Boyega is currently in London filming the eighth Star Wars movie with director Rian Johnson. Episode VIII will be released worldwide Dec. 15, 2017.
