Clock Tower spiritual successor NightCry coming to PC this spring

'Project Scissors' is coming soon

Nude Maker's spiritual successor to the Clock Tower series — which hasn't seen a proper sequel since 2002's Clock Tower 3 — is coming to Windows PC this spring. The game, NightCry, is now available for pre-order on Steam and publisher Playism's website.

Clock Tower series creator Hifumi Kono is directing the game, worked alongside Takashi Shimizu and Metal Gear Solid 4 composer Nobuko Toda. Former Silent Hill art director and designer —€” and Pyramid Head creator —€” Masahiro Ito also contributed to the game. Ito designed NightCry's creepy Scissor Walker, which he says is based on Clock Tower's Scissorman antagonist.

NightCry was crowdfunded through a Kickstarter campaign in 2015. The developer promises to bring the game to non-PC platforms at a later date.

For more on the project, read Polygon's interview with Kono and check out the new trailer above.
