No Man's Sky, the spacefaring adventure game from Hello Games, will be released June 21 on PlayStation 4, the studio announced today.
The game will be sold on the PlayStation Store, and Sony is also producing a retail disc version. The company announced in October that No Man's Sky was set to be released in June 2016. In addition to the standard game, Sony is producing a Limited Edition at retail. The package, which you can see below, puts the game in a Steelbook case and also includes a 48-page art book; a comic by Dave Gibbons, James Swallow and Angus McKie; a pre-order bonus known as the Starter Kit; and a dynamic PS4 theme.
Hello Games announced during E3 2015 that No Man's Sky would be released simultaneously on Windows PC and PS4, meaning that the PC version of the game will also be available June 21. No Man's Sky is a timed console exclusive on PS4.
We've reached out to Sony to ask about the game's price, and will update this article with any information we receive.
Update: The PC version, at least, will cost $59.99, according to listings on GOG and Steam. A special package, the Explorer's Edition, will be available for $149.99 exclusively at iam8bit.
Update 2: No Man's Sky is now available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store with a price of $59.99.
Update 3: A Hello Games representative confirmed to Polygon on March 4 that the Limited Edition of No Man's Sky will cost $79.99.
