The Wii U version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be released June 24 in North America, Nintendo announced today during a Nintendo Direct presentation.
Rugby sevens, which is debuting at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, is playable exclusively on Wii U. The Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is launching later this month, on March 18. It will feature golf, which is an Olympic sport this year for the first time in more than a century.
The 2016 Summer Olympics will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August 2016. For more on the Wii U game, check out our article from June 2015 about its announcement.
