Killer Instinct video unfreezes Tusk after 20 years on ice

We haven't seen him since 1996, and he's Thor-y about that

Owen S. Good is a longtime veteran of video games writing, well known for his coverage of sports and racing games.

Tusk, who last appeared in Killer Instinct 2 in 1996, returns for Season Three of Killer Instinct on Xbox One when that launches at the end of the month. Iron Galaxy issued this character trailer reintroducing him to the fighting game after two decades and, is it just me or has his voice gotten a lot more Chris Hemsworthy?

He also appears a bit beefier than his 1996 incarnation (see this video for a comparison) but the bare chest, the big ass sword and the flaxen hair, staples of any Norse warrior, frozen or unfrozen, are all there.

Season Three begins March 29. Tusk is joined by KI2 veterans Kim Wu and Gargos, as well as special guest stars Rash from Battletoads and the Arbiter from the Halo franchise.

The Windows PC and Xbox One editions have cross-play and cross-buy functionality, the announcement noted, including fight stick support. This will be the debut on Windows PC for the fighting game franchise, which rebooted on Xbox One in with that console's launch in 2013.
