MTV aired its 25th annual Movie Awards ceremony last night, and besides various accolades being handed out over the course of three hours, the show also used the time to debut some new trailers.
One of those trailers was for Warner Bros.' upcoming Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Before this teaser trailer, the studio had only released one other clip from the film a couple of months ago.
In the new trailer, new details about Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) are revealed. Scamander would go on to write the quintessential textbook about magical creatures that Harry Potter would read 90 years later. At this point in the story, however, he hasn't written the book and is simply exploring the world of magizoology in 1920's New York City.
The trailer also references Professor Albus Dumbledore, who was apparently Scamander's only supporter. Warner Bros. hasn't announced if a young Dumbledore will show up in the film, but that certainly looks like a possibility.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters Nov. 18, 2016.
