The new Ghostbusters video game won't feature the new cast (or the old one)

Bustin' to feel good on PS4, Xbox One and PC

Activision has confirmed that it's making a new Ghostbusters video game, one that will hit just a few days before the Paul Feig-directed cinematic reboot. The new game, however, which is simply titled Ghostbusters, won't feature the new cast of 'busters — it will feature four different characters.

In a debut trailer, the new Ghostbusters video game is revealed to be a four-player cooperative action game. It looks similar to 2011's Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, which was developed by Behaviour Interactive and released on PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360. Sanctum of Slime was an isometric action game that featured four new Ghostbusters. The newest Ghostbusters appear to be a quartet of high school students.

Activision's new Ghostbusters game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC via Steam on July 12. The rebooted Ghostbusters movie, which stars Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig, arrives in theaters July 15.
