Song of the Deep, developer Insomniac Games' storybook-inspired underwater adventure, is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One July 12, the studio announced today. It's the first game to be published by GameStop, which is expanding its efforts to bring titles from independent studios to retail.

The retail release of Song of the Deep will be exclusive to GameStop stores, and the game will be available digitally through the PlayStation Store, Steam and Xbox Games Store.

Song of the Deep is a side-scrolling, undersea adventure rooted in Irish mythology. It stars Merryn, the daughter of a fisherman who goes missing at sea. In an attempt to find her father, she constructs a makeshift submarine and journeys to the deep to find him.
