Summer Games Done Quick, the midyear edition of the semiannual Games Done Quick charity marathon, has announced its dates and speedrun lineup.
The event kicks off at noon CT on July 3 and runs until July 10. It will be held in Minneapolis. The event website has more information on the location and accommodations for those who want to attend in person.
Those following the action by livestream can see the schedule of runs here. Things get serious early with an any-percent run through Demon's Souls on the first afternoon, trying to come in under a run time of one hour and 15 minutes.
Monday, July 4 will feature the usual oddball choices in the very early morning, old favorite The Goonies 2 around breakfast time, and late evening runs through BioShock and Dishonored.
On Thursday, July 7, in primetime, an assault on the stupefying any-percent record of 14:54 in Fallout 3 is scheduled. That is followed by Fallout 4, whose any-percent record stands at 59 minutes, 13 seconds (loading times included).
All of the action will be carried live on Games Done Quick's Twitch channel, and the runs will later be archived to YouTube in an on-demand form.
Last year's Summer Games Done Quick hauled in $1.2 million for Doctors Without Borders, which is again this year's beneficiary. Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 also raised $1.2 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
