We're hiring summer interns

Polygon is hiring interns for the summer semester. We're looking for editorial interns with a genuine interest in reporting in the games and entertainment space — people who will not only work on projects they're given, but seek out stories as well. We're also seeking a video intern to collaborate with our team and pitch and execute video projects of their own.

This is a paid gig working out of Vox Media's New York-based office. Editorial intern duties will include everything from data entry and community engagement to writing, researching, fact-checking and pitching stories on video games and entertainment. Video interns will be tasked with a special project and creating, editing and running video content related to that project.

Requirements:

  • You must be able to work out of our New York office, not remotely, for the duration of your internship. Part-time or full-time opportunities are available between the hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You should be knowledgeable about video games and/or entertainment, as well as Polygon itself.
  • College students seeking credit are preferred, but not required.

Sound good? Rad! If you're applying for the editorial internship, send a short paragraph about yourself, a resume and your three best clips — these can be anything as long as they show off your writing and reporting skills —€” to apply-intern@polygon.com with the subject line "editorial internship."

For the video internship, send a short paragraph about yourself, a resume and two videos that demonstrate your ability to record gameplay and edit footage to apply-intern@polygon.com  with the subject line "video internship."

Applications are due by May 5. We'll be in touch shortly after if we like what we see. Applications that don't follow instructions or meet the requirements will be discarded. Good luck!
