Pyre is a strange, beautiful, magical creation. No surprise when you discover it's the latest title from Supergiant Games, creators of Bastion and Transistor.
Watch the first 20 minutes of the Pyre demo from Supergiant Games
I wrote up how the game works and some of my thoughts earlier this week, but this is one of those cases where seeing the demo, or at least most of it, might help you see how all of these ideas come together.
When I swung by the booth yesterday at PAX East to grab this video, Supergiant Games creative director Greg Kasavin told me that things were going well and that the crowds, which at times look like they’re going to completely envelope the show’s booths, were enjoying what they were playing.
He said the team is always nervous before that first moment the game gets into the hands of gamers. Supergiant Games takes unusual risks with their titles, creating things that are as beautiful to look at as they are, sometimes, hard to initially grasp.
Take a moment to watch the first 20 minutes or so of the demo everyone is playing on the floor this weekend.
